appointment of Lapo Paladini, PhD, to the newly created position of
chief marketing officer and senior vice president.
The new chief marketing officer position will be responsible for leading
PerkinElmer's marketing organization, as well as developing and
implementing key aspects of the Company's long-term market strategy,
including marketing and channel strategy and corporate communications.

Prior to this new appointment, Paladini served as president, Asia
Pacific, East Europe, Middle East and Africa and South America for
PerkinElmer. Since joining PerkinElmer in February 1982, he has held a
succession of management positions in the Company, including vice
president and general manager, sales and service, Europe, for
PerkinElmer Analytical Instruments, and global sales and marketing
leader for PerkinElmer Life and Analytical Sciences.
Paladini holds a doctorate in industrial chemistry from the University
of Pisa, Italy.
