Plexera Bioscience to Showcase Kx(TM) Array Technology
Lumera zu myNews hinzufügen Was ist das?
Plexera Bioscience LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lumera Corporation
(NASDAQ:LMRA), announced today that it will present the latest
developments of its commercially branded Kx™
array technology at the upcoming PepTalk 2008 meeting on January 7-9 in
San Diego. Plexera’s Director of Application
Development, Dr. Michael Cicirelli, will present a poster entitled "Accelerating
Proteomics Discovery with Kx™ Array
Technology.”
Going significantly beyond the capabilities of current protein array
technologies, Kx™ array technology not
only tells researchers what is binding, but also how well, how much, and
how long the binding occurs. This dynamic information is critical in
identifying characteristics of potential drug candidates.
The Plexera™ KX5
System (formerly known as the ProteomicProcessor™
Instrument) is based on Kx™ array
technology and is a fully integrated, easy to use platform for analyzing
up to 5000 biomolecular interactions in a single run. The System offers
optimized printing of proteins on specialized surface chemistries,
automated array processing, dedicated reagents, and proprietary data
analysis software.
"Implementing the commercial branding
strategy of our Kx5 System marks the
achievement of an important strategic milestone,”
said Plexera’s Chief Executive Office, Dr.
Joseph Vallner. "We are now beginning to
build a strong presence for the Plexera™
brand by clearly articulating our core technical value proposition to
prospective buyers of the technology.”
Initially, the Plexera™ KX5
System will target antibody and biomarker discovery applications when it
commercially launches in May 2008. Plexera Bioscience is currently
engaging select customers to participate in an Early Access Program
using the Kx platform.
