Research in Motion Ltd. said Wednesday it won an approval from
Visa Inc. for its mobile-payment platform called Secure Element Manager for near-field communication. The Waterloo, Ontario-based maker of BlackBerry devices said the approval marks "a crucial step in expanding RIM's role as a key security partner for mobile payment solutions around the globe."
