Dollar Tree Inc. was up 48%. Ross rival TJX Cos. was up 45%. Victoria's Secret parent Limited Brands Inc. climbed 31% while department-store operator Macy's Inc. was up 27%. Retail heavyweight Wal-Mart Stores Inc. rose 11%. Among the big decliners for the year, Kmart parent Sears Holdings Corp. plunged 57%. Office-supplies retailer Staples Inc. was down 39%. Electronics retailer Best Buy Co. dropped 32%. The biggest U.S. clothing chain Gap Inc. was down 16%. Teen retailer Abercrombie & Fitch Co. dropped 15%.
