Selectica’s (Nasdaq:SLTC)
Fusion
’08 conference promises to deliver
invaluable insights into how Contract
Lifecycle Management (CLM) is changing the way contracts create
value and manage risk for today’s business.
This year’s customer conference, scheduled to
be held at the Monterey Plaza Hotel in Monterey, California, October
26-28, will include special sessions for corporate
counsel and healthcare contract managers, demonstrating how to
deal with regulatory audits, coping with Stark
compliance for HMOs and hospitals, and how effective risk
management can drive more value from contracts. Hosted by Selectica,
Fusion ’08 also is being sponsored by Huron
Consulting Group, Accenture, and Pangea3.
The theme for this year’s Fusion conference is "Improving
Revenue and Reducing Risk in a Compliance Driven World.”
Scheduled keynote speakers include Tim Cummins, CEO of the International
Association for Contract and Commercial Management (IACCM), who will
kick off the conference with a presentation on "Fusion
of Confusion: The Journey to Contracting Excellence.”
Andrew Bartels, Vice President, Principal Analyst for Forrester
Research, also will share some of the insights he gleaned from his most
recent research in a session entitled "Contract
Lifecycle Management – Getting Value from
Your Investment.” To complement the track for
legal and health care professionals, W. Reece Hirsch, a partner in the
San Francisco law firm of Sonnenschein, Nath & Rosenthal LLP, will speak
on "Compliance Best Practices: Finding the
Common Thread,” which will focus on contracts
and creating a state-of-the-art compliance program for today’s
regulatory environment.
For legal professionals, there will be two sessions dedicated to
contract best practices for corporate counsel. Kevin Colangelo, Vice
President of U.S. Legal Services for Pangea3, will discuss "Creating
Greater Efficiencies in the GC’s Office:
Legal Outsourcing,” which will address the
fundamentals of legal outsourcing as it relates to contract management.
Nancy Jessen, Managing Director of Huron Consulting also will speak on "Challenges
Facing Corporate Legal Organizations: Preparing for the 2010s,”
which will include a discussion of trends in corporate contracts and the
changing regulatory climate.
For healthcare providers concerned with physician agreements and
regulatory compliance, Dawn Tolotti, Director of Operations Support for
Physician Services & Development at Providence Health & Services, will
offer a "Best Practice Case Study:
Transforming Contract Operations at Providence Health & Services.”
During her presentation, Ms. Tolotti will discuss how Providence
transformed its physician contract operation to address issues such as
Stark Law and Fair Market, and how centralizing contract management
increased access, accuracy, and partner satisfaction. A meeting of the
Selectica Healthcare Special Interest Group has also been scheduled
during the conference.
The Fusion ‘08 Solution Track will feature
Barbara Edler, Senior Vice President and U.S. Director, for Hill &
Knowlton, who will talk about "Change
Management: Driving Organizational Acceptance.”
During her presentation, Ms. Edler will address strategies to implement
large-scale enterprise systems implementations, such as those required
to deploy a CLM platform, and empowering users and senior management to
embrace change. There also will be informational workshops devoted to
Selectica Contract Performance Management 3.2, as well an interactive
Selectica Customer Town Hall Meeting.
"The Fusion conference is an ideal
opportunity for professionals to share their insights and discuss best
practices surrounding contract management with their peers, and it
allows us to work with our customers to make sure they are getting the
most from their investment in Selectica CPM,”
said Jason Stern, Vice President of Products and Business Development
for Selectica. "This year we are fortunate to
have experts from the legal professional, healthcare, and other
disciplines, so we can drill down into the unique contract issues our
customers face every day.”
