Cadbury's latest advertising campaign for its new flavors of "Bliss," the copy basically compares Naomi Campbell to a chocolate candy bar.Not surprisingly the supermodel is not happy. The ad, which ran in print and on billboards, features a photo of Cadbury's Dairy Milk Bliss bar alongside the words: "Move over Naomi, there's a new diva in town."In a written statement to outlets including CNN, Campbell said: "It's upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me, but for all black women and black people as a race...I do not find any humour in this, it is insulting and hurtful."In response, a Cadbury spokesman told CNN that they did not seek "to cause any offense and the campaign itself is a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss."Light-hearted? Maybe.Well-thought out? Definitely not.For the latest media news, visit The Wire.
