A small claims lawsuit may have serious implications for the car industry.Heather Peters' 2006 hybrid was getting to about 29 miles per gallon, much less than the 50 miles per gallon advertised by
Honda.Peters, a former lawyer, dropped out of a class action settlement that compensated claimants only a couple hundred dollars, and filed and argued her own case in small claims court. She won and was awarded $10,000.Now her case could serve as a precedent for others lawsuits that could rack up billions of dollars of losses for automakers. Watch the full story below.
