TranSwitch® Corporation (NASDAQ: TXCC), a leading provider of
semiconductor solutions for the converged voice, data and video network,
will participate in the Full Service Access Network (FSAN) GPON
interoperability (IOP) test event in Sophia Antipolis, France on June
22-26 with its Diplomat™-ONT-G product.
The event is hosted by France Telecom and the European
Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), under the auspices of
FSAN. Participating companies will have the opportunity to test the
maturity of their implementation under a global test architecture
developed by the organizing companies, France Telecom and Telecom
Italia. The main goal of the event is to demonstrate GPON equipment
interoperability by pairing different vendors. Detailed test cases are
also performed to validate the management of the Ethernet-based services
using the ONT Management and Control Interface (OMCI) protocol.
TranSwitch Diplomat-ONT-G is ideally suited for a broad variety of GPON
ONT configurations for residential and business subscriber deployments.
In addition to fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) applications, Diplomat-ONT-G, in
conjunction with the Diplomat-IP xDSL access controller and
Entropia-IIIc VoIP processor, provides complete solutions for
fiber-to-the-curb (FTTC) and multi-dwelling unit (MDU) architectures.
The Diplomat-ONT-G efficiently supports data, video and voice services
such as IPTV, VoIP, and high-speed Internet access.
