Vignette (NASDAQ: VIGN) today announced the recipients of the 2008
Vignette Excellence Awards. The awards recognize customers that have
used Vignette solutions to create some of the most powerful and
compelling Web sites and online properties for corporate, government and
customer use. This year’s winners include the Media Office of His
Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, MLC, Motorola, QAD and
Terra Networks.
Winners were recognized during Vignette Village 2008, the company's
annual user conference that occurred in Austin, Texas.
"Vignette works with some of the largest and most successful companies
in the world, and the Excellence Awards go to a select few that have
demonstrated outstanding innovation and real understanding of what the
Web can do for their customers, partners, employees and other
constituents,” said Dave Dutch, senior vice president of products and
marketing at Vignette. "This year’s winners serve as real examples to
other enterprise-class organizations.”
Media Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
The Media Office of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum,
Ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, provides
one of the best examples of how governments can use video and multimedia
content to create powerful and effective destinations for citizens,
visitors and other constituents. The Media Office’s Web platform
features an extensive array of content that includes video archives,
photo libraries, and rich Internet applications that highlight the
Emirate of Dubai and Sheik Mohammed’s many activities.
MLC
MLC, the wealth management division of National Australia Bank, is one
of the leading Web service providers for financial advisers and
investors in Australia. After 10 years of using Vignette’s Imaging and
Workflow solutions to manage all correspondence with MLC customers,
advisers and employees, MLC turned to Vignette Portal and Content
Management to create an integrated and consistent Web experience across
all of the company’s Web sites. The result is a company that has shifted
static content to a new, more engaging platform to increase traffic and
expand internal ownership of site content.

a portfolio that includes communications infrastructure, digital
set-tops, enterprise mobility solutions and mobile devices. Motorola

sections and languages, is viewed daily by millions in 68 countries.
QAD
As a publicly traded manufacturing software company, QAD provides
applications that are used at approximately 6,100 licensed sites in more
than 90 countries and in as many as 27 languages. QAD’s Web strategy
focuses on engaging customers externally with a public-facing site that
features comprehensive information about products and services.
Internally, QAD provides employees with a community for sharing
knowledge and best practices via wikis, blogs and discussion forums.
Vignette enables both of these priorities through its Portal, Content
and Collaboration solutions.
