Regulatory News:
Wavecom (Paris:AVM) (NASDAQ:WVCM) today announced that the Wavecom
Wireless Microprocessor®
WMP 100 is the cellular
engine at the heart of the newest member of the Telguard®
Digital family of alarm communicators: TG-11. Relying on the WMP 100 for
cellular connectivity, the UL Listed TG-11 transmits alarm signals over
the air if the telephone line has been disrupted, compromised, or when
no wireline service is available. Telguard Digital is used in over
400,000 intrusion detection systems in homes and businesses across the
U.S.
The compact size and improved integration of components enabled by
embedding the Telular application directly on the WMP using Wavecom Open
AT® Software
Suite, gave Telular the opportunity to provide a unique response to
their customers’ needs. As a result, the TG-11
is one of the smallest, most lightweight – and
most economical – alarm communicators on the
market.
"We chose the Wireless Microprocessor based on
the capabilities of the Open AT®
multi-tasking, real-time operating system,”
said Chris Bear, Telular Chief Technology Officer. "By
embedding our application on the WMP100 we were able to reduce component
redundancy and realize both cost savings and a more compact design.
After years of collaboration with Wavecom on a variety of projects, we
know we can count on them for both product reliability and outstanding
support.”
"We are thrilled to see the innovation
Telular has built on our Wireless Microprocessor®
product,” said Stefan Lindvall, President of
Wavecom Inc. "It has been a pleasure to work
with their talented team of engineers and developers to truly realize
the promise of Open AT®
in a product that will enable more reliable, cost-effective
communications for both residential and commercial alarm systems the
world over.”

International 2008 in Atlanta this week.
