Moody's assigns Aa2 ratings to $70.2 million Variable MuniFund Term Preferred and MuniFund Term Preferred shares issued by Nuveen closed-end fund
New York, January 04, 2013 -- Moody's Investors Service has assigned ratings of Aa2 to Variable MuniFund Term Preferred Shares (VMTP Shares) and MuniFund Term Preferred Shares (MTP) to be issued by the Nuveen Michigan Quality Income Municipal Fund (NUM), a NYSE listed closed-end fund. The preferred shares will be issued in connection with the merger of two Michigan closed-end funds into NUM. Pursuant to the terms of the reorganization, outstanding preferred shares of the two funds will be exchanged into new classes of preferred shares of NUM. Immediately prior to the reorganization, the fund changed its domicile from a Minnesota corporation to a Massachusetts business trust.
