Rackable
Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:RACK), a leading provider of servers and
storage products for large-scale data centers, today announced its
participation in Gartner’s
27th
Annual Data Center Conference, December 2 – 5 in Las Vegas. Rackable
Systems will highlight its modular data center, the ICE Cube™, and its
new C2005 server, designed for greater flexibility and configurability.
"Gartner’s data center conference provides an excellent resource for
organizations to discover new solutions and technologies to improve data
center functionality and performance,” said George Skaff, vice president
of marketing at Rackable Systems. "Rackable Systems will showcase its
most innovative data center solutions in the marketplace. We have also
just released several new products that will be incredibly attractive to
customers seeking a greater degree of flexibility.”
As market demand increases for flexible and energy efficient data center
solutions, Rackable Systems answers the call with its ICE Cube, the
company’s modular data center environment. The highly configurable ICE
Cube is designed to augment or replace traditional data centers of any
size. The containerized solution allows IT administrators to quickly and
easily deploy a cost-effective and high-performance data center in
almost any location. ICE Cube features computing density levels of up to
2,800 servers and up to 7.1 Petabytes of storage in a standard 40’ x 8’
ISO shipping container. Customized and built-to-order, ICE Cube can be
deployed with Rackable Systems’ broad range of space-saving, half-depth
servers and storage.
Inside the ICE Cube, Rackable Systems will also be displaying a large
variety of products that support technology from third party vendors.
Early this year, Rackable Systems formed a highly complimentary
partnership with NetApp® that allows them to combine Rackable
Systems’ high-performance servers with NetApp’s storage solutions.
Rackable Systems has also formed a partnership with IBM that allows the
company to offer high-performance BladeCenter servers inside of its ICE
Cube. Both NetApp and IBM solutions will be on display inside the ICE
Cube.
Attendees at the show will also have a chance to see Rackable Systems’
new C2005 server, which delivers an unparalleled level of flexibility
and configurability, while leveraging the company’s popular half-depth
design and best-in-class components. Equivalent to an industry-standard
1U rackmount server in density, the C2005’s modular design enables
build-to-order, Eco-Logical™ configurations featuring a wide variety of
local storage capabilities and the ability to support up to five
expansion slots – unheard of at this density level.
In addition to displaying the ICE Cube, outside the exhibit hall,
Rackable Systems will also be exhibiting at booth K-3.
