As organizations navigate economic uncertainty, geopolitical instability, and accelerating digital disruption, Bain's PI practice has become a critical partner for CEOs and their leadership teams. The Practice addresses end-to-end operations (including research and development, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain, and customer and aftermarket services), corporate support functions (such as finance, human resources, legal and real estate), and overall corporate transformations through Bain's Accelerated Performance Transformation (APT) capability.

By embedding advanced digital, automation and AI capabilities into every solution through Bain's multidisciplinary team of more than 1,500 AI, data and engineering experts, Bain's PI practice empowers organizations to deliver lasting outcomes such as sustained cost reductions, faster speed to market, and improved working capital — all while ensuring clients are capturing top- and bottom-line value at scale and speed to make improvements stick.

To fuel innovation and lead rapid growth of performance improvement capabilities, Bain has expanded its leadership team globally. The new leaders will deepen client partnerships and ensure the practice continues to deliver transformative, enduring value across industries.

Bain's global PI practice will now be co-led by senior partners, Caperton Flood and Simon Henderson, who will serve as the Practice's co-Global Capability Leaders (co-GCLs). They succeed Hernan Saenz who, since joining Bain more than 25 years ago, has helped clients around the world achieve high-value impact through accelerated performance transformation and circular supply chain initiatives. Under Hernan's leadership, Bain PI revenues have tripled.

Based in New York, Caperton assumes the role of co-GCL building on prior experience as former head of Bain's Americas PI practice, as well as former head of Bain's global Procurement practice. He brings to his new role 25 years of experience in shaping large-scale business transformations, particularly in advanced manufacturing, and energy and natural resources. He also has led PI's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) agenda, including Bain's acquisition and integration of Proxima Group and ArcBlue Consulting, to expand the firm's global capabilities in operational execution.

Based in London, Simon steps into the co-GCL role after serving as co-leader of Bain's PI practice in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), as well as founding and serving as the co-Global Solutions Lead (co-GSL) for APT. With over three decades of experience as a trusted consultant, executive and investor, Simon has supported clients across industries in performance improvement and cost reduction. Since first joining the firm in 1994, Simon also founded and served as leader of Bain Australia's Private Equity (PE) and M&A practices (globally his deep experience in PE and M&A spans more than 400 deals). He also founded and served as leader of Bain Australia's Health and Life Sciences (HLS) practice.

In further key changes to Bain's PI leadership, the firm announced that Marco D'Avino will join Jörg Gnamm in serving as co-Regional Capability Leaders (co-RCLs) of Bain's EMEA PI practice. Based in Rome, Marco most recently served as co-RCL of Bain's PI practice in the Asia Pacific (APAC), as well as co-founded Bain's APT solution. Marco brings more than a decade of consulting experience with deep expertise in cost transformations and "all levers in" programs. He's been responsible for leading several large-scale transformations across multiple geographies and industries, including advanced manufacturing and retail. Marco is also recognized for developing key talent and building capability models at scale.

In parallel, Kevin Meehan will join Jason Heinrich in serving as co-RCLs of Bain's Americas PI practice. Based in Austin, Kevin brings more than 25 years of consulting and industry experience spanning technology, retail, distribution, oil and gas, and industrial goods. He previously served as head of Bain's APAC Technology practice and is a founding member of the Veterans at Bain affinity group.

The firm also announced Fritz Jaeger will join Jason Heinrich in serving as the Practice's co-GSL for APT. Based in Singapore, Fritz will help drive some of Bain's most complex PI activities in APAC, bringing deep expertise in multi-year transformation programs and large-scale change management. He's advised executive teams across Asia for more than 15 years.

"Operations and supply chain executives worldwide are facing challenging market conditions," said François Faelli, global head of capabilities at Bain. "This volatile era requires companies to navigate multiple sources of dramatic uncertainty— which is not only bad for business but is especially bad when you need to make long-term capital expenditure decisions. Our expanded Performance Improvement leadership team will remain committed to equipping clients with the groundbreaking solutions necessary to remain resilient and competitive."

While only 12% of transformations meet expectations, Bain PI clients consistently beat the odds, delivering an average return on investment of 17 times. The Practice has earned multiple industry honors including being named a "Leader" during Gartner's 2024 Magic Quadrant for Finance Transformation Strategy Consulting assessment, as well as during IDC's 2023-2024 Worldwide Operations Improvement Consulting Services vendor assessment. The practice is also recognized for its work done in collaboration with The World Economic Forum which provides business leaders with insights for circular solutions.
