Clean Elections Successfully Delivers CD 7 Debates Following Unexpected Vacancy
PHOENIX, Sept. 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Clean Elections, Arizona's premier non-partisan voter education organization, announces the conclusion of successfully produced candidate debates for the Congressional District 7 vacancy following the passing of longtime Arizona Congressman Raúl M. Grijalva. As the state's only statutorily authorized provider of candidate debates, Clean Elections responded to this unexpected, yet immediate need to provide critical information to voters participating in the scheduled special election.
The televised debates were hosted in Tucson, Ariz., located in Congressional District 7. The planning process prioritized accessibility for all voters, particularly those living in the district, with special attention to constituencies that consume information in either English or Spanish. The debates also featured American Sign Language interpreters who delivered real-time on-screen translation, ensuring comprehensive access to the democratic process.
"The successful production of these debates ensures that voters in Congressional District 7 have access to the information they need to make informed decisions at the ballot box," said Gina Roberts, Clean Elections, Voter Education Director. "We appreciate the support of our partners whose close collaboration assured that deadlines were met and that our participating candidates had a positive experience."
