MONTRÉAL, May 23, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Element AI, a global AI products and software company, today announced that Fast Company has named its co-founder and CEO, Jean-François (JF) Gagné, to its 10th annual list of the Most Creative People in Business. This designation honours an influential and diverse group of 100 leaders from a vast range of global industries including technology, design, entertainment, health care, media, government, non-profit, finance, food, and more.

The Most Creative People in Business list recognizes individuals whose creative or business contributions might not necessarily be quantifiable by numbers, but nonetheless make a significant impact on the world. These scientists, executives, programmers, comedians, founders, designers, musicians, writers, and activists have accomplished something new this year within their field that drives their industries forward, helping to solve global and societal problems in a novel way.

This year's top 100 represent Fast Company's hallmark of diversity: 52 of the honorees are women, 48 are men, and more than 25 are from outside the United States; with nearly one-third being people of colour.

Element AI delivers AI software products at scale, that help people work smarter. Founded in 2016 by seasoned entrepreneur JF Gagné and pioneering AI researcher Yoshua Bengio, PhD, the company turns cutting-edge academic research and deep industry expertise into scalable products that help organizations better navigate complexity.

Element AI leverages its strong connection to academia with an open, collaborative approach to research, taking a leadership position in the ethical governance of data as it develops and launches its first lines of AI-powered software products in 2019. The company's AI for Good team champions human rights, along with supporting government relations and policy-making around the impact of AI.

"This year's edition acknowledges society's increasingly fraught relationship with technology. It is light on people inventing new apps to sell us more stuff—and mine our personal information—and heavier on leaders trying to protect consumers and companies from unscrupulous actors online," says Stephanie Mehta, editor-in-chief of Fast Company.

"I am honoured to be part of the Fast Company 100 Most Creative People in Business list," said JF Gagné, CEO and Co-Founder at Element AI. "We've been working really hard at Element AI to make AI-driven business transformation widely available for enterprises. It's been an amazing experience creating a new approach to building software and to see our AI products start to come to market," added Gagné.

Fast Company editors and writers spend a year researching candidates for the list, scouting every sector of business: technology, fashion, cybersecurity, biotech, entertainment, beauty, social good, food, data, consumer goods, and more. The people selected have all accomplished something truly innovative within the past 12 months or so that is having a meaningful effect within their industry. These honorees are also discoveries—having never been profiled in Fast Company. Taken together, they represent where business is heading right now.

Introduced in 2009, the Most Creative People list was quickly established as one of Fast Company's most esteemed franchises. Each year, the magazine's editors present an all-new list of 100 people chosen according to a proprietary methodology. Fast Company's Most Creative People in Business issue (Summer 2019) is available online now at http://www.fastcompany.com/most-creative-people/2019 and on newsstands beginning June 4th.
