PEORIA, Ill., Feb. 20, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Enduvo, the leading immersive content authoring and delivery platform for training healthcare, mechanical, and technical industries, today announced it has been selected for the first phase of the highly competitive Air Force Small Business Innovation Research grant. The grant is an outcome of the US Air Force Research Lab (AFRL) and its technology accelerator, AFWERX, partnering to provide Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) funding to innovative companies and products that can help the Air Force achieve its mission.
"AR/VR content is invaluable for training pilots, maintenance teams, medical practitioners, and first responders within the Air Force," said Steve Garrou, CEO, Enduvo. "Given the impact that immersive, experiential training has within the Air Force, Enduvo's ability to significantly reduce training costs and improve the efficiency of content creation is receiving an enthusiastic response."
Until now 3-D experiences were out of reach to many organizations because of high costs, studio production time, and the need for experts to integrate the components to create a seamless experience. Refreshing the content increases the costs even more. With Enduvo, now anyone can now create and share AR/VR content and training. In just a few minutes, experts can be creating immersive content and imparting their knowledge.
About the AFRL and AFWERX SBIR Grant:
AFRL and AFWERX have partnered to streamline the Small Business Innovation Research process in an attempt to speed up the experience, broaden the pool of potential applicants and decrease bureaucratic overhead. Beginning in SBIR 18.2, and now in 18.3, the Air Force has begun offering 'Special' SBIR topics that are faster, leaner and open to a broader range of innovations.
