LAKELAND, Fla., May 21, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Sue and Bob Scherer, who opened Pet Wants Madison in Georgia in 2016, are pleased to announce the launch of their new Pet Wants business in the Lakeland, Florida, area. The Scherers will be closely involved with the business, but local pet parent Jennifer Miller will be managing the business and running the day-to-day operations.

Pet Wants' specially-crafted, private label pet food formulas are made in small batches with fresh, natural ingredients enhanced with vitamins and minerals for a complete and balanced diet in every bowl. Pet Wants Lakeland offers multiple blends of dog and cat food formulas as well as house-made "Spaw" products made with therapeutic-grade essential oils and house-made beef jerky, sourced from the finest local top-round beef. Pet Wants Lakeland is a mobile business that serves Lakeland, Winter Haven, Bartow, Auburndale, Lake Wales, Mulberry, Plant City and Polk City as well as the surrounding areas.

The Scherers opened Pet Wants Madison back in 2016 after careers in corporate America. They were both active animal rescue volunteers with a passion for pets and, when they heard about Pet Wants, they saw an opportunity to do something they would love every day. Now, less than three years later, they are excited to be expanding into Lakeland, which National Geographic named the most dog-friendly small city in America.

"Things have been going very well in Madison – we even had to expand to a larger storefront – and we've continued to be pleased with the business concept and the opportunity for growth. We fell in love with this area when Bob's uncle passed away and left us his beautiful and historic home in Lakeland. We quickly realized that this area would be perfect for our second location," Sue said. "We are excited to be serving new customers with our mobile business and hope to open a storefront location in the future."

Pet Wants has a 100-percent, money-back guarantee on the freshness and quality of the food and the company only sources the best salmon, chicken, lamb, brown rice and other ingredients available. There's no sugar added, no fillers and no animal by-products and Pet Wants never uses corn, wheat, soy or dyes, which makes the food great for animals with allergies.

Although the Scherers spend lots of time in Florida, they also wanted to make sure they hired a manager they could trust to continue to build the brand and run the day-to-day operations of the business. They met Jennifer Miller while Bob was renovating his Uncle Ed's home next door and Jennifer, who had multiple dogs, became a Pet Wants customer and fell in love with the concept.

"Our Boxer, Blaze, had many health challenges, including skin and digestive issues, and trying to find the right food was confusing. Shortly after meeting the Scherers, we started Blaze on the Lamb and Brown Rice Formula and the results were immediate. He started eating better, his coat started to shine and he really became an active dog again. Our other dog, Cricket, loves Pet Wants too and is a particular fan of the Chicken and Brown Rice recipe. I believe in the Pet Wants products and I'm thrilled to be on this journey with Sue and Bob," Jennifer said.
