BOSTON, April 19, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- PreVeil, the leader in making encryption usable for everyday business applications, announced that it has completed the implementation of Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 compliant algorithms into its end-to-end encrypted email and file sharing services.
"Integrating NIST's FIPS 140-2 algorithms into the PreVeil system is an important step in our mission to make encryption usable for everyday business activities," said Randy Battat CEO of PreVeil. "These algorithms address the compliance requirements for our customers in the Aerospace & Defense and other industries using PreVeil Email and Drive for secure communication and data storage."
FIPS 140-2 was established by NIST and their Canadian counterpart, the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), to establish benchmarks for cryptography, as well as the methodology for testing against those benchmarks. If a platform, like PreVeil's, uses FIPS 140-2 compliant algorithms, then contractors and agencies can assume that the technology is using tried and tested algorithms in the implementation of its cryptography.
With PreVeil's integration of FIPS 140-2, the company has reached an important milestone in its FIPS journey.
PreVeil makes encryption usable for everyday business. PreVeil's encrypted email and file sharing services enable the creation of "Trusted Communities" for an organization's most security sensitive partners, suppliers, and customers.
PreVeil replaces insecure passwords with transparent cryptographic authentication, insulating users from phishing, spoofing and business email compromise attacks. Our patented Approval Group features minimize the threat of a single compromised admin putting an entire organization at risk. All messages and documents are encrypted end-to-end, which means that nobody other than intended recipients — not even PreVeil — can read the data.
