Raines-Loring brings over a decade's experience in direct-to-consumer commerce at companies including Lilly Pulitzer, Swarovski, and Greycork to Springboard Retail. Specializing in developing scalable, efficient people operations, employer brand building, full cycle talent acquisition, remote work, and designing and scaling culture, her transition from business development roles in the DTC retail sector to human resources for a retail tech startup, albeit untraditional, was a natural fit.
The promotion follows Raines-Loring's oversight of Springboard Retail's transition from a traditional office in downtown Boston to a "work from anywhere" company. Raines-Loring has taken the lead on operationalizing a globally distributed remote work model, including significant changes in recruiting, communication, and employee policies. Since assuming the role, she has also implemented numerous initiatives to comprehensively improve people operations, including:
- "Video first" culture, with all Springboard Retail employee interactions taking place over video
- Innovative recruiting process, including adoption of several new technologies such as one-way video interviews for applicants.
- Universal onboarding program for all new Springboarders, allowing new team members to quickly and effectively onboard completely virtually
- 360-degree performance feedback
- Thriving virtual community, including special interest chats and "day in the life" sessions, involvement in the company's corporate charity, and virtual coffee dates among other social activities
- Executive dashboard of people-oriented metrics to encourage data-driven people and organizational decisions
Employee satisfaction has increased by 35% since the creation of this role, with 92% of Springboarders indicating that they would recommend the company to a friend and employee retention averaging 95%.
Raines-Loring holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor's of Science Degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology.
