HOUSTON, Nov. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- On November 7, 2018, more than 4,600 high school student leaders from over 33 school districts and 89 campuses gathered inside the Berry Center in Cypress, TX for LeadWorthy Live – an initiative bringing leaders, students and educators to a stadium-sized classroom to learn, be inspired and challenged to #BeRemarkable!
Keynote speaker and event founder Flip Flippen joined with other special guests to inspire these young leaders to make each of the 86,400 seconds we have every day count.
"The greatest need we have is for our youth to grow as leaders and to become someone who makes a difference in the world," Flippen said. "LeadWorthy teaches students the hard work of learning self-discipline and being personally responsible for their own actions, attitudes, and behaviors."
For the first time ever, LeadWorthy Live was emceed by local LeadWorthy students. Master illusionist Vinh Giang and former Harlem Globe Trotter Joyce Ekworomadu captivated students with personal stories, inspiring them to be deliberate in setting and achieving their goals. Exciting performances from Cy Fair ISD drum lines and East View High School's show choir "Glee" joined by choir members from Cypress Park High School brought the audience to their feet! Students departed after a farewell challenge to #BeRemarkable by making every second count.
Flippen established LeadWorthy as an initiative with a goal of encouraging students to pursue excellence in their relationships, leadership positions, and future careers. The LeadWorthy initiative includes LeadWorthy The Course (formerly Teen Leadership), a curriculum for growing middle school and high school student leaders, as well as LeadWorthy Online, an online community to engage and challenge students, and the LeadWorthy Live events that connect students, teachers, and leaders in person.
LeadWorthy Live is coming to Dallas, Texas in March 2019.
