OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill., Aug. 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA) announced a new grantmaking program that will invest in nonprofits that use — or need — technology to improve lives, with a focus on under-resourced communities locally and globally.

The new GTIA grantmaking program is part of a substantial expansion of GTIA's giving programs, which also includes member-directed giving and investments in host cities where major GTIA events are held. GTIA's expanded giving programs will result in $1.5 million in contributions to nonprofits in 2025 as the IT channel's leading association ushers in a new era of impact — defined by greater scale, deeper investment and a renewed commitment.

"Our giving programs reflect GTIA's values of equity, inclusion and innovation through technology. The new grantmaking program is a powerful opportunity to direct funding for nonprofits using (or needing) technology to solve real-world challenges," said Kelly Ricker, chief operating officer of GTIA. "Our grants can provide funding to support smart, scalable solutions that tackle real-world challenges, from broadband access to AI-powered learning tools."

Priority will be given to organizations using technology to address resource deficits — such as limited access to healthcare, education, food or infrastructure — as well as systemic barriers like discrimination, poverty and geographic isolation, such as:

  • Affordable internet initiatives
  • Digital skills training
  • AI tutoring
  • Tech-enabled telehealth access
  • Technology infrastructure support

GTIA members are encouraged to refer nonprofits they know to apply for the grants (and those they refer should indicate the name of the GTIA member company in their online application).

GTIA grant applications now accepted through Sept. 15

Nonprofits that meet the grantmaking criteria are invited to apply directly by completing the GTIA grant application at gtia.org/grants. The online application form includes questions about the organization's mission, the communities served and how the organization is using (or planning to use) technology to drive impact. A preview of the form can be downloaded to allow organizations to prepare their application.

Type of work that may be funded includes, but is not limited to:

  • Technology that enhances educational opportunities and outcomes
  • Programs that bridge the digital divide
  • Workforce initiatives using tech to open doors
  • Tech innovation that creates new pathways to prosperity
  • Bold initiatives that use technology to expand access and equity

Eligibility

Applications are accepted from any nonprofit or school that:

  • Is registered and in good standing
