SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Aug. 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The NCPDP Foundation is excited to announce the results of a recent study conducted by RxEOB.com, LLC, which explored the effects of giving patients real-time access to their prescription benefit information using the RxWallet® mobile app. The study found that patients who used the app reduced their monthly medication costs by 3.8% and had a 200% reduction in claims reversals compared to those who did not use the app. On average, each patient used the app more than five times during the 180-day period, searching for savings and making more informed choices about their prescriptions.

J.W. Hill, MBAHCM, Executive Director of the NCPDP Foundation, shared, "This research validates our commitment to giving patients the information they need to make informed healthcare decisions. By providing real-time prescription benefit details, we're helping people save money, stick to their medications, and improve their overall healthcare experience. These results show the power of data transparency in transforming pharmacy practice."

"This implementation of the RxWallet® application provides RxEOB and the NCPDP Foundation a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate an untapped use of the NCPDP standards in action, improving patients' access to care by working collaboratively with their health plan, doctor, and pharmacy" said Robert Oscar, CEO of RxEOB. "We appreciate the work that the NCPDP Foundation is doing to put the power of the industry in the patient's hands."
