Rohstofffonds

Bei Rohstofffonds handelt es sich um Branchenfonds oder auch Themenfonds, da in eine bestimmte Branche investiert wird. Zu den Rohstofffonds zählen insbesondere Edelmetallfonds, die in Gold, Silber, oder andere Edelmetalle investieren, die Öl- und die Gasfonds.

Anleger finden bei den Rohstofffonds zwei Möglichkeiten: Auf der einen Seite stehen Fonds zur Auswahl, die über börsengehandelte Terminkontrakte (Futures) direkt auf Veränderungen von Rohstoffen spekulieren und zum anderen gibt es Rohstofffonds, die in Unternehmensaktien aus dem Rohstoffbereich investieren.

Anleger können mit Rohstofffonds durch den Einsatz unterschiedlicher Instrumente Chancen, die sich an den globalen Rohstoffmärkten bieten, wahrnehmen. Rohstofffonds bilden meistens die Gewichtung eines Rohstoffindex an.

Bereits mit kleinen Beträgen können Anleger in den Rohwarenmarkt investieren. Da Rohstoffe reale Werte sind, bieten sie keinen Schutz vor Geldentwertung und keine Planungssicherheit.

Viele Waren sind nur beschränkt haltbar und umständlich zu lagern. Aufgrund des sich häufig in größerem Umfang ändernden Preises haben insbesondere Ölfonds mit einem volatilen Markt zu kämpfen. Für Anleger kann dies zwar ein höheres Ertragsrisiko bedeuten aber auch eine Möglichkeit auf sehr gute Renditen. Ein weiteres Risiko betrifft die Wechselkursentwicklung, da Rohstoffunternehmen einen großen Anteil ihrer Erlöse im US-Dollar erzielen.
