Baptist Memorial Health Care to host Heart & Soul: A Men's Wellness Collective
MEMPHIS, Tenn., June 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Baptist Memorial Health Care will host Heart & Soul: A Men's Wellness Collective to mark Men's Mental Health Awareness Month and to offer support and resources to local men on Saturday, June 21 at the Agricenter International Expo Center.
This is the first Heart & Soul event organized by Baptist with the support of local community leaders and mental health organizations. The event will include breakout sessions and more than 30 vendors, from health care professionals, mental health care providers, financial counselors to community organizations and celebrity guest speakers, to educate and inspire men to be proactive about their mental, physical and emotional health.
"We're looking forward to attending the first Heart & Soul: A Men's Wellness Collective to discuss the importance of mental health for men," said Michael Jai White. "This is an important topic, and one that my wife and I are passionate about. We use every opportunity to encourage men to improve their mental health and address issues that affect their own and their families' mental health and wellness."
Michael Jai and his wife, Gillian, Da'Vinchi and actress Elise Neal will participate in the event. Michael Jai White is an actor, director and martial artist and was the first African American to portray a major comic book superhero in a major motion picture. Da'Vinchi has a starring role on "BMF" and uses his platform to help youths find their purpose and identify their gifts.
"We know men play an integral part in the well-being of families, and we want to help men live long, healthy, productive lives," said Keith Norman, vice president/chief government affairs and community relations officer for Baptist Memorial Health Care. "As men, we focus so much on being providers that work becomes our priority to the detriment of our family and our own health. When men come to this event, we want them to gain the knowledge they need to deal with their own hardships while also being equipped to help their families cope with challenges they may not have been able to overcome before."
Attendees can visit various vendor booths, receive free health screenings and qualify for giveaways and door prizes. The Grizz Girls and Grizzlies Grannies & Grandpas will also provide entertainment at the event. For more information and registration, visit https://www.baptistonline.org/heart-and-soul.
