With explosive growth, Browserbase unveils Director—a no-code tool that empowers anyone to build AI-powered web automations

SAN FRANCISCO, June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Browserbase, the infrastructure platform that powers web browsing capabilities for AI agents today announced the launch of Director, a new no-code application that brings browser automation to non-developers.

Browserbase was founded by Paul Klein in 2024. Klein is a 3x founder who sold his previous company to Mux in 2023.

Browserbase was recently voted one of the top 100 Infrastructure technology companies by Redpoint Ventures.

The product release coincides with a $40 million Series B financing round led by Notable Capital, with participation from existing investors CRV and Kleiner Perkins. Glenn Solomon, managing partner from Notable Capital will also join the board of directors.

Founded just 16 months ago, Browserbase has scaled quickly, serving over 50 million browser sessions in 2025 alone. It now supports 1,000+ companies—including Perplexity, Commure, 11x, Vercel, and Customer.io. More than 20,000 developers have signed up to use the platform to embed real-world web browsing capabilities into their AI features, workflows, and products.

"Two years ago, AI agents browsing the web sounded like science fiction. Today, they're here—and they need better infrastructure," said Paul Klein IV, Founder and CEO of Browserbase. "We're building the foundational primitive for this new era of automation."

Introducing Director: AI Automation, No Code Required

Director is Browserbase's no-code tool that transforms plain English into powerful browser automations, making web automation accessible to anyone. It allows non-technical users—operators, analysts, marketers, and vibe coders—to build and run automations simply by describing what they want to do. Director generates executable Stagehand scripts and deploys them on Browserbase's infrastructure, making automation accessible across every team.

Director joins Stagehand, Browserbase's open source automation framework, which now supports Python and Node.js with improved observability and performance.

"Browserbase is building the Stripe for browser automation," said Glenn Solomon, Managing Partner at Notable Capital."It's elegant, powerful, and foundational to how AI will interact with the web. Paul is a rare founder—deeply technical, relentlessly focused, and scaling fast. My Notable Capital colleague Dan Cahana and I are thrilled to support Browserbase as it becomes the core infrastructure of agentic software."
