STATE COLLEGE, Pa., June 19, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- New Pig Corporation has announced a $10,000 donation to The Rivet at Discovery Space in State College, PA, supporting the purchase of two Bambu H2D 3D printers and materials. The gift strengthens The Rivet's mission to deliver hands-on, industry-level technology experiences to students and community members in Central Pennsylvania.

The two cutting-edge printers bring a significant step forward in the capabilities of The Rivet's FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) makerspace. With a larger build volume, 5 micron motion calibration, and a dual-nozzle system for multi-material prints, the new machines will allow the makerspace to significantly expand both the scale and complexity of projects it can support.

"This donation fulfills our mission to give students and community members direct experience with cutting-edge, industry-level 3D printing that they wouldn't otherwise touch," said Evan Rosengrant, Manager of The Rivet. "With the Bambu H2D printers, we're now able to take on projects we've had to turn away in the past. It's a great win for Happy Valley's makers, entrepreneurs, and educators."

The investment also allows The Rivet to increase class sizes, run more simultaneous prints during workshops, and support larger-scale educational programming throughout the year.

"These printers represent a significant upgrade to The Rivet's capabilities," said Michele Crowl, Executive Director of Discovery Space. "They bring our 3D printing area in line with the professional-grade equipment we've already built in our woodshop and laser cutting areas. Thanks to New Pig's support, we're giving people access to tools that truly empower innovation."

New Pig's contribution underscores its continued commitment to promoting manufacturing innovation and hands-on learning in Central Pennsylvania.

"At New Pig, we believe in investing in the people and ideas shaping modern industry," said Clark Stapelfeld, Chairman and CEO of New Pig. "The Rivet is creating exactly the kind of spark our region needs around the future of manufacturing — a place where curiosity, creativity, and technical skills come together in an accessible way for students and the community. We're proud to support a place that builds not just capabilities, but potential."
