Pro Football Retired Players Association Announces 2nd Annual PFRPA Champions Banquet To Be Held In Houston
ARLINGTON, Va., June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Pro Football Retired Players Association (PFRPA), a national organization that develops programs and benefits for retired NFL players, today announced its '2nd Annual PFRPA Champions Banquet' set to take place on Thursday, Sept. 25, 2025, at the Directors Club at NRG Stadium in Houston.
Early Bird tickets are available now at bit.ly/pfrpachampionsbanquet25.
The event seeks to recognize retired NFL players who are making a positive impact, as well as individuals who have made significant contributions to the former player community. Building on the resounding success of the inaugural PFRPA Champions Luncheon in 2024, held in Green Bay, Wisconsin, this year's event is poised to be even bigger.
PFRPA Board Chair and Retired NFL Player Darrell Thompson reflected on the achievements of last year's event and conveyed his anticipation for an even more successful one this year.
"Last year's inaugural PFRPA Champions Luncheon exceeded all expectations, and the energy it created has only grown," Thompson said. "We're building on that momentum with this year's event, and it's shaping up to be even more dynamic and impactful."
As part of the occasion, the PFRPA Champions Award will be presented to three recipients in recognition and appreciation of their efforts as champions for the communities they serve in the Houston area and more broadly.
PFRPA Executive Director Joe Agbasi underscored the significance of selecting Houston for this year's Banquet and shared how he is looking forward to engaging with the local community.
"It's an honor to bring the PFRPA Champions Banquet to Houston, a city known for its energy, diversity and deeply ingrained spirit of community," Agbasi said. "It's a great opportunity to connect with passionate Houstonians who are committed to supporting retired NFL players, and it allows us to further our mission in a city that wholeheartedly embraces it."
