Landmark Study Reveals Essential Role of T Regulatory Cells in Reducing Skin Aging and Strengthens Intellectual Property Position

SAN DIEGO, May 5, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Robles BioCeutics announced today presentation of peer-reviewed data at the annual American Association of Immunologists Meeting describing the scientific mechanism of how stem cell exosome-based cosmetics reduce skin aging.

The data demonstrated that exosomes, which are one of the key ingredients in the Company's GlowSelle™ product are capable of stimulating a type of skin cell called "keratinocytes" to generate protective anti-inflammatory cytokines interleukin-10 and interleukin-35. Furthermore, administration of exosomes in mice whose skin was subjected to accelerated aging due to ultraviolet mediated damage resulted in reduction of collagen loss, a cardinal feature of aging. Reduction in aging was associated with an increase in T regulatory cells in the skin treated mice. When antibodies were administered to reduce T regulatory cells, the therapeutic effects of exosomes were lost. Furthermore, administration of agents that increase T regulatory cells enhanced the effects of exosomes.

"T regulatory cells, the body's protective mechanisms against uncontrolled inflammation and autoimmunity are becoming more and more a subject of great interest to the immunology community," said Dr. Jorge Genovese, Chief Scientific Officer of Robles BioCeutics. "The findings that GlowSelle exosomes, and potentially many other exosome products work through manipulation of T regulatory cells is a significant finding in my opinion."

The American Association of Immunologists (AAI) meeting, IMMUNOLOGY2025™, is the world's premier all-immunology conference, offering an unparalleled platform for researchers to showcase cutting-edge discoveries. Held May 3–7, 2025, in Honolulu, Hawaii, this prestigious event attracts over 3,500 scientists from more than 40 countries, including global leaders and emerging innovators in immunology.

"To my knowledge, Robles BioCeutics belongs to a very limited number of cosmetic companies that are actually going the extra mile to identify biological mechanisms of actions of these "regenerative dermatology" products that have the potential to slow down or even reverse skin aging," said Dr. Radu Pislariu, Scientific Advisory Board member of the Company. "Acceptance to present at the AAI is a strong validation of support from the academic community for this novel approach."

"Our company is a "Science-First" organization. I am thankful for the diligent work of our scientists and collaborators, as well to the organizing community at AAI that accepted our work for presentation," said Maria Robles, President and CEO of Robles BioCeutics.
