David P. Garner, a decorated veteran and expert in defense logistics, has built a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years in service to U.S. and international defense operations. From combat leadership in Vietnam to consulting for NATO allies, Mr. Garner has played a pivotal role in modernizing logistics systems and advancing multinational operations.

A retired U.S. Marine Corps colonel, Mr. Garner served two combat tours in Vietnam and later transitioned into strategic leadership roles, including nearly 25 years with the Logistics Management Institute (1989-2013). From 2013 to 2022, he worked as an independent consultant, providing expert guidance to clients on multinational logistics integration and defense modernization - particularly within NATO frameworks.

Mr. Garner holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame and a Master of Business Administration in organization development from Harvard University. He also graduated "With Distinction" from the U.S. Naval War College. He also served as an instructor at the Army Field Artillery School and as the Marine Officer Instructor for the Naval ROTC Unit at Notre Dame.

Throughout his career, Mr. Garner has received numerous honors for his exceptional contributions, including the Bronze Star for Valor, the Defense Superior Service Medal, and several President's Awards from LMI. In 2013, he became one of the first Americans to receive the Medal of Merit from the Swedish Defense Materiel Administration, recognizing his commitment to international defense cooperation.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Mr. Garner is an avid tennis player and a frequent contributor of published letters to The Washington Post on matters of national defense. He attributes his success to perseverance and a strong ability to collaborate across cultures and institutions. He is also a very active member of his local church, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
