The Lovett Center Reaffirms Its Mission of Transformative Mental Health Care
HOUSTON, June 24, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Lovett Center has entered a new chapter as an independent outpatient practice, reaffirming its commitment to deep, integrative mental health care for individuals and families in Houston and beyond.
"This transition reflects our dedication to being responsive to the evolving needs of our community," said Dr. Robert Hilliker, PhD, LCSW-S, LCDC, and Chief Clinical Officer of The Lovett Center and Prairie Recovery Center. "By narrowing our clinical focus, we are strengthening the depth of care we provide—particularly around co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders through a psychodynamic lens."
At The Lovett Center, treatment is designed to honor the full human experience—psychological, biological, social, cultural, and spiritual. The center offers individual, group, and couples therapy for a broad range of concerns, including trauma, grief, relationship issues, mood and personality disorders, and substance use.
Through its intensive outpatient programs—Pathos for mental health and Prairie for substance use —The Lovett Center has supported thousands in their journey toward recovery and emotional wellness.
At its core, The Lovett Center remains rooted in collaboration—bringing together a multidisciplinary team under one roof to foster shared insight and meaningful outcomes for every client.
In addition to The Lovett Center, Prairie Recovery Center, located just outside of Houston, remains dedicated to its mission to serve individuals and their families in achieving healing and long-term wellness from the devastating effects of addiction and mental health issues.
A recognized advocate for mental health access, Hilliker recently appeared on Great Day Houston to mark Mental Health Awareness Month and to share reflections on his own 26 years of sobriety. "We are seeing real momentum in how people view mental health. The stigma is slowly lifting, and that shift is creating room for more people to seek the support they need," he shared.
"We built this place to be a true clinical community," Hilliker said. "Healing is relational, and our work reflects that truth."
