CHARLES TOWN, W.Va., May 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope being launched into orbit by the space shuttle Discovery, a mission that redefined the modern understanding of the cosmos. In honor of this astronomical milestone, American Public University System (APUS) invites experts, researchers, and students to submit proposals to present at the 6th annual Space Education and Strategic Applications (SESA) Conference, titled Celebrating the Cosmos, taking place virtually on September 25-26, 2025.

Proposal submissions are due by July 15, 2025, via the online form: SESA 2025: Celebrating the Cosmos.
"From commercial and military space exploration to ever-evolving space law and policy, we're looking for innovative proposals that will inspire the next generation of explorers, both in our University community and afar," said Dr. Brian Freeland, Dean of the School of STEM and School of Health Sciences.
Applicants must submit a title, 250-word abstract, select a preferred date (Sept. 25 or Sept. 26), and choose a panel topic from a wide range of space-related subjects. Accepted presenters may also submit a 3–6-page article for publication in the SESA Journal Conference Proceedings.
Dr. Kristen Miller, APUS Professor of Space Studies and Faculty Advisor for the APUS Analog Research Group, emphasizes the significance of this milestone for the conference: "Hubble has been our celestial time machine, revealing the past, present, and future of our universe. SESA 2025 is an opportunity to build on its pivotal discoveries and chart new frontiers in space exploration and potential discovery."
Additional inquiries may be sent to sesajournal@apus.edu.
Don't let this opportunity orbit past— join APUS in celebrating Hubble's legacy and the future of space discovery!
