ASRC Federal and Transportation Security Administration Win 2025 ACT-IAC Innovation Champion Award for Airport Security System

Touchless Identity Solution delivers next-generation identity verification technology enhances passenger experience and national security

RESTON, Va., May 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- ASRC Federal announced today that it was selected by the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) as a winner of the 2025 ACT-IAC Innovation Champion Awards, together with its Transportation Security Administration (TSA) customer and teammate Daurem, LLC. The Champion Award, ACT-IAC's highest innovation honor, recognizes revolutionary and game-changing government innovations. 

ASRC Federal, Daurem LLC and the TSA were selected for the award based on their partnership in developing the Touchless Identity Solution (TIS). This next-generation biometric identity verification technology, currently deployed at 10 high-volume international airports, streamlines the passenger airport security process while also improving aviation security. TIS enables authorities at travel hubs, such as Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, to verify passenger identity at airport checkpoints more effectively and efficiently.

Travelers who opt into TIS are directed to TIS kiosks at airports, where a Transportation Security Officer operates a tablet with a high-definition camera to verify their identity against existing TSA data – expediting checkpoint processing to less than 10 seconds. This process can be significantly faster than the regular PreCheck process where passengers present their ID and boarding pass.

The TSA, ASRC Federal and Daurem, LLC were recognized at ACT-IAC's Emerging Technology and Innovation Conference held on May 4-6 in Cambridge, Maryland and they discussed their innovations as a part of a panel at the conference.
