(NYSE: KR) today announced it is helping families honor Independence Day with low prices on holiday staples and offering up expert advice from a Kroger Family of Companies butcher for customers hosting backyard barbeques to commemorate the Fourth of July.

Meet Yme Van Beek from Smith's Food and Drug in St. George, Utah. Yme joined the Kroger Family of Companies 20 years ago starting at QFC in Seattle, Washington and has given nearly 40 years to the art of meat cutting.

Asked about the love and pride he has for his work, Yme shares, "Still to this day after many years, I enjoy the craft of cutting meat.
