Finseca Names Bob Schellhas Chief Advocacy Officer to Lead Efforts Toward a Stronger, Financially Secure America
WASHINGTON, Sept. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Finseca announced today that Bob Schellhas will join the organization as Chief Advocacy Officer, effective December 1, 2025. Schellhas brings more than 20 years of government affairs experience, and a decade in senior leadership roles on Capitol Hill, where he built a reputation for uniting stakeholders and shaping national policy to strengthen Americans' financial security.
Schellhas most recently served as a Principal at Ernst & Young, advising leading financial institutions and global corporations on legislative strategy and risk management. His private-sector leadership also includes roles as Managing Director and Head of Federal Government Affairs at Citigroup during the financial crisis and Vice President of Federal Relations at the American Council of Life Insurers (ACLI).
Earlier in his career, Schellhas held senior congressional positions as Chief of Staff to Senator Rob Portman, Deputy Chief of Staff to Speaker John Boehner, and Communications Director for House Ways and Means Chair Dave Camp. Across these roles, he influenced major legislation on tax, retirement security, pensions, and student loan programs, while building the trusted alliances that define his collaborative approach.
"Bob represents everything Finseca stands for: bringing people together, leading with service, and driving meaningful results," said Marc Cadin, CEO of Finseca. "He brings with him an amazing background that has been transformational in helping Americans save for retirement, and a proven ability to lead initiatives that will advance our ambitious goals. "I am thrilled to join Finseca at such an exciting time in its growth as one of Washington, D.C.'s fastest-growing trade associations," said Bob Schellhas. "The vision of financial security for all is a noble one, and I am inspired by the team's already impressive track record in making that a reality. Together with Finseca's exceptional team and dedicated industry partners, I look forward to strengthening our collective voice, expanding access to trusted financial advice, and ensuring policymakers recognize the vital role this profession plays in the financial future of every American."
