Lockton Appoints Kelly Thoerig as its D&O and EPL Product Leader

Experienced Leader, Coverage Attorney will Join Firm's Professional & Executive Risk Division 

KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Lockton, the world's largest privately held insurance brokerage, is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Thoerig as its new U.S. Directors and Officers Liability (D&O) and Employment Practices Liability (EPL) Product Leader within its Professional & Executive Risk division. 

Thoerig brings 20 years of experience as a coverage attorney and executive leader in professional and financial liability insurance coverage to Lockton. In her new role, she will advance the firm's overall strategy around D&O and EPL. 

Before joining Lockton, Thoerig spent more than 12 years at Marsh, where she held a number of executive leadership positions, most recently serving as Managing Director, EPL and Wage and Hour Coverage Leader and FINPRO Claims Advocate Team Leader. Prior to Marsh, she was a practicing attorney who counseled and litigated on behalf of insurer clients in coverage matters nationwide. Kelly also has experience representing parties in white collar, antitrust and a wide variety of commercial litigation matters while in private practice.

Thoerig earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and her law degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
