PASADENA, Calif., July 15, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Osa—a striking new rooftop restaurant perched atop the brand-new AC Hotel Pasadena—will open to the public on July 18th, offering an immersive dining experience that blends panoramic views, fresh California cuisine, and thoughtful design rooted in nature and place. Located in Pasadena's vibrant Playhouse Village at the corner of Colorado Boulevard and Madison Avenue, Osa sits along the world-famous Rose Parade route, offering guests a lively year-round atmosphere and a fresh vantage point on one of the city's most iconic streets.

With breathtaking vistas of the San Gabriel Mountains and the historic Pasadena skyline, Osa features an open-air terrace centered around a mature olive tree, framed by cozy fire pits and landscaping inspired by the Angeles National Forest. The restaurant is the latest concept from Boulevard Hospitality Group, known for crafting distinctive dining experiences that blend thoughtful design with local character and culinary creativity. With design elements by Suplex Design and Build Agency, Osa is poised to become a standout destination for both locals and travelers alike.

Santa Monica-based hotel owner and operator Welcome Group, Inc. and its development affiliate Eight Form brought the AC Hotel Pasadena to life and have partnered with Boulevard Hospitality Group to realize this rooftop vision.

Named after the Spanish word for "female bear," Osa celebrates California's diverse culinary roots with a seasonal menu. Helming the kitchen is Executive Chef Carlos Couts, a Los Angeles native known for his work with Sushi by Scratch Restaurant Group and Rokusho LA. His globally influenced, ingredient-driven style guides a fresh, produce-forward menu that includes grilled swordfish, roasted beets, Wagyu burgers, hand pressed tostones, King Ora salmon crudo, and more. The cocktail and beverage program is curated by Pete St. Peter (Capri Club) who brings her signature style and local sensibility to Osa's full bar. Guests can look forward to a vibrant bar program featuring happy hour menus, an extensive wine list, seasonal cocktails, and a curated selection of local spirits. Cocktail highlights include the Cactus Cooler, a smoky-spicy blend of mezcal, nopales, and lime with hints of amaro and aloe; the Triple Cali Spritz, a refreshing mix of three California aperitifs and soda water with bright citrus notes; and Drop the Beet, a bold magenta-hued margarita made with tequila, beet juice, raspberry, and lime.

"We're proud to bring a Boulevard concept to Pasadena," said Freddy Braidy, Founder of Boulevard Hospitality Group. "It's a city we've long admired for its charm and character, and we're excited to contribute something vibrant and welcoming to the wonderful community here."

The rooftop space was conceptualized with design elements evoking the textures and colors of Baja California's arid landscapes and the emotional vibrancy of architect Luis Barragán. Most furniture pieces are custom-made from reclaimed wood by local artisans, while floral installations by Lindsay Cummins feature native botanicals including hand-foraged California buckwheat.

"From the locally sourced menu to the sustainable materials and desert-inspired palette, every detail was chosen to create something beautiful, intentional and distinctly Californian," said Spencer Kushner, Hospitality Managing Partner at Boulevard Hospitality Group.

With its scenic setting, contemporary coastal cuisine, and commitment to sustainability and craft, Osa sets a new tone for rooftop dining in Pasadena. Osa will be open seven nights a week, with dinner service available daily from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. A weekend brunch offering is anticipated to launch later this summer.
