Penny Stocks sind Aktien mit niedrigem Kurswert. Die häufig auch als Small Caps oder "kleine Aktien" bezeichneten Papiere gelten als hochspekulativ, da diese meist starken Kursschwankungen unterliegen. Penny Stocks sind daher nur für erfahrene Anleger geeignet. Nicht selten sind diese kleinen Aktien Ziel von Spekulanten, die die hohen Kursschwankungen zu ihren Gunsten nutzen wollen. Den hohen Chancen stehen aber auch hohe Risiken gegenüber. Weniger erfahrene Anleger sollten Pennystocks eher meiden.
