Coupang, Lotte to discuss future of retail at IFA in Berlin

The organizer of the IFA consumer electronics exhibition in Berlin has attracted Korean retail giants, including Coupang and Lotte, while reaffirming its commitment to partnerships with tech firms such as Samsung, LG and innovative startups. At a press conference in Seoul to promote this year’s show, which will be held from Sept. 5 to 9, IFA Management CEO Leif Lindner introduced the first IFA Retail Leaders Summit. According to the event’s organizer, decision-makers from Coupang and Lotte Hi-Mart will join the event on Sept. 4 to engage in dialogue on the future of international retail with other participants including eBay, Alibaba and IKEA. “Our mission is to strengthen IFA’s role as a central gathering point for the industry and to highlight the innovations that will shape our future,” Lindner said. Describing IFA as a platform that can serve as the gateway to Europe for Asian brands, he added that this year’s event will include quantum computing and semiconductor companies such as NVIDIA, Qualcomm and AMD.
