Grundfos Sponsors Economist Impact Water Day, Division CEO to speak
NEW YORK, Sept. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Grundfos, a global leader in advanced water solutions, is proud to sponsor the Economist Impact Water Day, taking place during UN Global Climate Week 2025 in New York City on September 25. Hamed Heyhat, CEO of Grundfos' Water Utility Division, will join the panel discussion on "The True Value of Safe Water: Mobilizing Investment Through Credible Data."
Heyhat will spotlight how the future of water access depends on stronger measurement, accountability, and investment. Led by corporate stewardship, resilient infrastructure, and digital innovation. The discussion will showcase how advanced technologies and cross-sector collaboration can accelerate both water access and climate resilience.
At the session, Grundfos will showcase the Water Access Impact Tool, a first-of-its-kind pre-investment resource developed in collaboration with Economist Impact. Economist Impact is the research arm of The Economist Group that combines the rigor of The Economist's editorial standards with data-driven research and global insights to deliver thought leadership, analysis, and events tailored for organizations and decision-makers. In addition to Heyhat, panelists include:
- Cecilia Scharp, director of water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), UNICEF
- Nabil Chemaly, senior program officer, safe water, Hilton Foundation
- David Croft, group head of sustainability, Reckitt
Designed to quantify both the social and economic returns of sustainable water investments, the tool helps governments, private investors and NGOs identify high-impact projects and direct resources where they can deliver the greatest benefits. Initially piloted in three countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, the tool is expanding to cover additional countries in the Global South, as part of Climate Week NYC, with an upgraded interface for broader accessibility.
"Our work is about future-proofing communities and industries," said Heyhat. "By combining innovation, partnerships, and credible data, we can create solutions that are both sustainable and economically viable. We're standing together with global leaders and innovators to drive meaningful change in water resilience."
Grundfos' participation at the Economist Impact Water Day reinforces its leadership in driving sustainable water access and climate-tech innovation, reflecting its global ambition to enable safe and managed water access for 300 million people by 2030.
