At the heart of the program is the LungXperience exhibit, a striking 20'x20' inflatable lung that invites visitors to walk through and explore the inner workings of the lungs. This powerful educational experience helps attendees understand lung anatomy, learn about risk factors for diseases like lung cancer and COPD, and discover how screening can save lives.

"We're proud to partner with LUNGevity Foundation to bring vital lung cancer awareness and risk education into communities," said Arun Krishna, Vice President and Head of US Oncology for Lung Cancer at AstraZeneca. "Our team is deeply committed to eliminating lung cancer as a cause of death for every patient at every stage—and we're excited to support the LungXperience as it drives important conversations about lung health across the country."

"Early detection saves lives, and programs like LungXperience are critical to reaching people where they are," said Andrea Ferris, President and CEO of LUNGevity. "We are proud to bring education about the importance of lung cancer screening to communities across the country, especially those that are underserved or may have limited access to healthcare resources." LUNGevity's presence at these events ensures that people not only learn about lung health but also understand the importance of timely lung screening and access resources to take action."

LUNGevity's participation includes providing:

  • Educational materials on lung cancer risk, symptoms, and screening
  • Information on clinical trials and early detection
  • On-site engagement with LUNGevity staff and volunteers
  • Access to digital tools and resources through QR codes and giveaways

About Lung Cancer in the US

  • About 1 in 18 Americans will be diagnosed with lung cancer in their lifetime.
  • More than 234,000 people in the US will be diagnosed with lung cancer this year, with a new diagnosis every 2.2 minutes.
  • It is estimated that close to 65% of all new lung cancer diagnoses are among people with no tobacco exposure or only past tobacco exposure.
  • More lives are lost to lung cancer than to the next two deadliest cancers (colorectal and pancreatic) combined.
  • Only 27% of all people diagnosed with lung cancer will survive 5 years or more, but if it's caught before it spreads, the chance of 5-year survival improves to 64%.
