Propane Tanks, Uprooted by Floodwaters, Recovery Effort Underway in Hill Country
KERRVILLE, Texas, July 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- As communities across the Hill Country begin the recovery process following recent flooding, the Propane Council of Texas is working to support local safety efforts by helping spread the word about displaced propane tanks.
Several local propane companies have formed the Propane Hill Country Emergency Response Team to locate, recover, and secure propane tanks and cylinders that have been moved or damaged by floodwater.
If you come across a propane tank or cylinder that appears out of place—do not touch or attempt to move it.
Instead, call or text the emergency response line at 1-888-407-7672. A trained team member will be dispatched promptly to recover the tank safely.
Dislodged propane tanks can pose hidden dangers, including gas leaks. It's critical that only qualified professionals handle recovery.
The Response Team, headquartered in Kerrville, is made up of rotating crews from local propane companies and will remain active throughout the recovery phase. The Propane Council of Texas is helping amplify their efforts by encouraging residents across flood-impacted areas to report any tanks they encounter.
Please share the response number widely:
