Steven's background bridges Hollywood and academia: he studied storytelling with former Paramount and Disney executive David Kirkpatrick, known for greenlighting Top Gun and The Little Mermaid, and worked in the linguistics lab at the University of Pennsylvania under Bill Labov, the father of sociolinguistics.
