TEAMSTERS JOIN UNION ALLIES, LEGISLATORS TO DEMAND CSU KEEP ITS PROMISES TO WORKERS
Unions File ULPs on Behalf of Thousands of Workers
LONG BEACH, Calif., July 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Teamsters Local 2010, the California Faculty Association (CFA), the California State University Employees Union (CSUEU), and other unions that collectively represent 80,000 workers at California State University (CSU) will hold a press conference on July 22 to expose the university's plans to break its contractual promises to union workers. The press conference will take place immediately prior to CSU's Board of Trustees meeting.
Despite receiving full funding in the 2025 state budget, CSU management has notified the labor unions representing university workers that they will not be able to provide the salary step increases and cost-of-living adjustments agreed upon in their respective collective bargaining agreements.
Local 2010, CFA, and CSUEU have all filed unfair labor practice (ULP) charges against CSU for anti-worker actions and violating collective bargaining agreements.
