Breast Cancer in the U.S and Arkansas
According to the American Cancer Society, breast cancer accounts for nearly one in three new cancer diagnoses in women each year. In 2025, an estimated 316,950 new cases of invasive breast cancer will be diagnosed in U.S. women, along with approximately 59,080 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
Breast cancer is a leading public health concern in Arkansas. As reported by the Arkansas Department of Health, more than 2,500 women are diagnosed annually, and it's the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in the state. The burden is especially significant in rural communities, where screening rates are often lower and access to care can be limited.
