BMI reconnects with rural and small libraries to discuss practical digitization for preserving local history.

SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 8, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The 2025 Association for Rural & Small Libraries (ARSL) Conference took place September 17–20, 2025 at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The event gathered librarians, staff, and exhibitors committed to strengthening small and rural libraries with practical tools, training, and community-focused solutions.

BMI Imaging Systems, Inc.—a longtime partner to libraries, historical societies, and archives—returned to ARSL to share right-sized approaches for digitizing newsprint, microfilm, and local-history collections. Conversations centered on planning pilots, protecting chain of custody, and enabling secure access that fits small teams and tighter budgets.

Jake Walker, BMI Account Executive, reflected on the event: "ARSL is where we hear what day-to-day library work really looks like. Our goal is to help smaller libraries take on digitization in manageable steps—preserve irreplaceable materials, make them easier to find, and keep projects affordable."

BMI looks forward to supporting the preservation projects discussed in Albuquerque and helping more rural and small libraries safeguard local stories for future generations.
