Endeavor Health's Community Resource Center Receives National Recognition for Innovative Community Health Program
PALATINE, Ill., July 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Endeavor Health℠ has been honored with the prestigious American Hospital Association (AHA) Dick Davidson NOVA Award for its Community Resource Center (CRC) in Palatine, Ill. This national award recognizes hospital-led collaborations that are improving community health and well-being through innovative partnerships.
The CRC was recognized as an innovative "one-stop shop," that brings together more than a dozen partner agencies under one roof to deliver comprehensive support services to individuals and families in Chicago's northwest suburbs. This unique model offers seamless access to essential resources, including health and wellness support, education and literacy programs, employment opportunities, food and clothing distribution, counseling and youth development programs, all tailored to meet the evolving needs of the community throughout different stages of life.
Annually, the CRC has approximately 150,000 visits. Last year, the CRC provided food to nearly 85,000 individuals, clothing to over 6,500 adults and children, and supported nearly 7,500 individuals through education, health, and literacy programs.
After more than 20 years of support, Endeavor Health reaffirmed its commitment to the CRC in 2022 by investing over $1 million to not only renovate the facility, but to cultivate a collaborative environment where its partner agencies can continue to create magic for the community. Partner agencies include
- Endeavor Health: Owns and maintains the building, and provides community health workers and a community nurse who offer services such as chronic disease management and prenatal support.
- Partners for Our Communities: Manages day-to-day operations, provides case management, legal clinics, a clothing closet, youth programming and more.
- Faith Feeds Food Pantry: Distributes food to nearly 85,000 people annually.
"We are incredibly honored to receive the AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award," said J.P. Gallagher, President and CEO of Endeavor Health. "This recognition is a testament to the strength and importance of partnerships in helping everyone in our community be their best."
"For over 20 years, I've seen the Community Resource Center empower individuals to improve their own lives, and to become active contributors to our community," said Karen Baker, System Director, Community Impact & Engagement at Endeavor Health. "It's incredibly rewarding to witness their transformation from hardship to hope and engagement."
The AHA Dick Davidson NOVA Award highlights the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing complex community health needs. Endeavor Health's CRC serves as a model for hospitals and health systems seeking to improve the health and well-being of their communities through innovative and impactful programs.
