BOCA RATON, Fla., July 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Attune Agriculture, the leader in hydrocolloid based agricultural products, announces that its EPA registered line of insecticides, Entrapment®, has received registration certificates across the continental U.S. and Puerto Rico, and is now available for sale and use in those regions. Entrapment is a new, contact insecticide featuring three physical modes of action to control insect and mite pests on a wide range of crops without causing phytotoxicity and is exempt from tolerance.

Born from over 100 years of hydrocolloid expertise, Attune Agriculture combines deep roots in food science and agriculture to create performance-based crop inputs that are safe for the environment and the people who use them. This milestone is significant considering the increasing difficulty and costs associated with getting a new insecticide through the EPA and ESA registration process. Growers are challenged with the dichotomy of rising insect pressure and dwindling options for pest control. From the 1960s to the 2000s, the number of new pesticide active ingredients registered by the EPA was greater than 100 per decade, 10 per year on average. In the 2010 to 2019 decade, that number has fallen to less than 40 on an annual basis, less than 4 new active ingredients per year.

"We understand the challenges that growers face every season: pest pressure, rising input costs, managing pesticide resistance, uncooperative weather. Our mission is to provide a way to control pests that is effective, not cost prohibitive, and not prone to resistance allowing the grower to improve their insect resistance management program by replacing or complimenting their favorite chemical actives," said Greg Andon, CEO of Attune Agriculture.

Entrapment's proprietary active ingredient, Rhexalloid®, transforms every spray droplet into a potential trap on the leaf surface. The tightly anchored traps engulf, trap, or immobilize insect and mite pests less than 4mm in length while not trapping larger beneficials.

The Entrapment product line features four formulations:

FV – Fruit & Vegetable: optimized for the specific needs of high value crops such as fruits, vegetables, and nuts.
RC – Row Crop: targets pests on large acreage row crops using low spray volumes.
CK – Caterpillar Killer: targets hard to kill pests such as navel orangeworm and codling moth, as well as whiteflies and mites.
SP – Specialty: OMRI listed for the specific needs of organic crops, greenhouses, turf and ornamentals, and golf courses.
