Go-ahead for Nartum own park project in the district of Rotenburg

Bremen, 27 June 2025 – Energiekontor AG (“Energiekontor”), a leading German project developer and operator of wind and solar parks based in Bremen and listed in the General Standard, has reached financial close of the Nartum wind park project in the district of Rotenburg in Lower Saxony, Germany. The project is now ready for construction. The wind park is to be incorporated into the company’s own portfolio once it is commissioned. Energiekontor will thereby expand its own park portfolio to around 650 megawatts in the coming years.

Energiekontor received a permit for the project in August 2024 and successfully participated in the EEG tender of the German Federal Network Agency in February 2025. The project has since progressed to financial close. Once the loan has been approved, preparations for construction can begin.

Four Nordex wind turbines, each with a nominal power of 5.7 megawatts, are to be erected at the site. The hub height of the N149 turbines is 164 metres and the rotor diameter is 149 metres. The average expected annual yield of the wind park from the first full year of operation is around 66 gigawatt hours –enough to supply more than 20,000 average households with renewable electricity and save more than 50,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year.

As plans currently stand, the wind park is scheduled to begin operations in 2027. Construction work is set to start at the beginning of 2026. The background to this is the ongoing need for support mast replacement so that the wind park can be connected to the high-voltage grid via a substation. With the commissioning of the new wind turbines, Energiekontor plans to transfer the wind park to its own park portfolio and expand the total generation capacity within the Group by around 23 megawatts.

Including this project, a total of eight wind and solar parks in Germany and France with a generation capacity of just over 200 megawatts for our own portfolio are currently under construction or in preparation. This will increase the capacity of our own portfolio to around 650 megawatts over the next few years,” says Peter Szabo, CEO of Energiekontor AG.
