Foreigners snap 9-month selling streak of Korean stocks in May

Foreign investors snapped their nine-month selling binge of South Korean stocks in May amid eased woes over U.S. trade policies, data showed Thursday. Offshore investors bought a net 2 trillion won ($1.47 billion) worth of local stocks last month, the first net purchase in 10 months, according to the data from the Financial Supervisory Service (FSS). In April, they sold a net 13.59 trillion won worth of local stocks, the largest ever on record in the wake of the market turmoil caused by the Trump administration's tariff policies.
