Mölnlycke Health Care breaks ground on $135 million expansion of Wound Care manufacturing facility in Brunswick, Maine

BRUNSWICK, Maine and GOTHENBURG, Sweden, Sept. 23, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Mölnlycke^® Health Care, a global leader in MedTech, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, today celebrates the groundbreaking of a major expansion to its wound care manufacturing capacity in Brunswick, Maine. This milestone marks the beginning of a $135 million investment aimed at significantly increasing Mölnlycke's manufacturing capacity in the United States.

The expansion is part of Mölnlycke's strategic commitment to localise production and meet growing demand from U.S. healthcare providers. The state-of-the-art facility will support Mölnlycke's long-term sustainability goals by using renewable energy solutions, including wind and solar power, and streamlined logistics. It will also feature advanced machinery sourced from U.S. suppliers. 

Over the next five years, the investment will create new job opportunities, increasing Mölnlycke's workforce in Maine by approximately 10%, and will engage local contractors and suppliers. Mölnlycke's ambition with the Brunswick expansion, is to enable for more patients in the U.S. to benefit from cutting-edge innovative and high-quality wound care products produced by Mölnlycke.
